Weekend Reading: Long Live The Negroni, Cars As Pool Floaties, And Truth About Crows

Let’s Talk About Margins –  Medium
One of the cool issues about working at Hodinkee is being on the periphery when it comes time to supply our journal. Watching the artistic course of is like being inside an Aaron Sorkin drama, albeit an excellent chunk of the script includes issues like painstakingly going backwards and forwards over copy, mulling over images, feeling the burden and high quality of the paper, and the dash to the end as the ultimate proof units sail for the printer – you recognize, stuff that is most likely not nice for TV. In the publishing world, generally the wonder lies in what DOESN’T get printed: margins, house and vacancy is the place the emotion comes from. As this text argues, (and as all Hodinkee readers know), “giving a #%^* is the best feeling you can imbue craft with.”
